Founded in 1912, the School of Industrial Instruction is the first engineering school in Taiwan, and it is now renamed as the National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT). After the foundation, The Department of Mechanical Engineering of NTUT purchased a number of mechanism teaching models by Shimadzu Seisakusho Ltd. from Japan and by W.M. Welch Scientific Co. from USA. Currently, there are totally 17 models survived and exhibited in the meeting office and departmental lobby in the department buliding.
